  • Group therapy involves a small group of individuals meeting regularly to discuss and work on shared challenges, guided by a therapist. It differs from individual therapy, where one-on-one sessions focus solely on a single person's concerns. The group setting offers unique benefits, such as peer support and learning from others' experiences.

  • Confidentiality in group therapy is maintained through the establishment of ground rules, which require all members to commit to keeping the discussions private. This means that what is shared within the group should not be disclosed outside the group setting, creating a safe and trusting environment for everyone.

  • Group therapy can address a wide range of issues, such as anxiety, depression, grief, relationship problems, or addiction. It's especially helpful for concerns that benefit from shared experiences and peer support, as individuals can learn from one another and work together toward personal growth.

  • To determine if group therapy is right for you, consider your specific needs, preferences, and goals. If you feel that connecting with others facing similar challenges and learning from their experiences might be beneficial, group therapy could be a suitable option. It's always a good idea to consult with a mental health professional for guidance on choosing the best treatment approach.

  • In a typical group therapy session, members take turns sharing their thoughts, feelings, and experiences, while others listen and provide support or feedback. The therapist's role is to facilitate the discussion, ensure a safe and respectful environment, and guide the group toward therapeutic insights and growth.
