Unmasked” is an 8-week online ADHD therapy group for California-based women, femmes, and nonbinary adults. Led by Savannah Wilson, LMFT, the group offers a supportive, neurodivergent-affirming space to explore identity, build self-trust, and learn practical tools for emotional regulation—without pressure to perform.
For many women and nonbinary folks, the path to an ADHD diagnosis isn’t straightforward. It often comes after years—sometimes decades—of feeling “different,” misunderstood, or chronically overwhelmed. While ADHD has long been associated with hyperactive boys, the reality is that many neurodivergent adults have flown under the radar due to masking, perfectionism, and internalized pressure to perform.
The Invisible Weight of Undiagnosed ADHD
Many of us learn early on to hide our struggles. We become the high achievers, the over-functioners, the caretakers. We learn to perform wellness, even when inside we’re falling apart. That’s the exhausting magic trick of masking—one that leaves little room for rest, authenticity, or asking for help.
For women and nonbinary individuals, ADHD often doesn’t look like distraction or hyperactivity. Instead, it shows up as:
Emotional sensitivity and difficulty regulating moods
Chronic people-pleasing or fear of disappointing others
Mental fatigue from juggling invisible labor
Overwhelm, burnout, and executive dysfunction
Deep shame over “not trying hard enough”
The late diagnosis often brings relief—but it can also open the door to grief, confusion, and the question: Who am I without the mask?
A Space for Undiagnosed ADHD exploration and Your Neurodivergent Story
>That’s where Unmasked: A Women’s ADHD Therapy Group comes in.
This 8-week virtual group is designed specifically for California-based adults (ages 21–45) who identify as women, femmes, or nonbinary—and who are navigating the emotional weight of a late ADHD diagnosis.
Led by a neurodivergent therapist, Unmasked isn’t just about managing symptoms. It’s about unlearning shame, exploring identity, and creating a more compassionate relationship with yourself. Sessions weave together narrative therapy, trauma-informed care, and body-based practices in a pace that honors sensory needs and lived experience.
What Makes Unmasked is different for Undiagnosed and Late stage.'
Unlike traditional ADHD coaching or skill-building groups, this space centers reflection over performance. It welcomes:
Camera-off participation
Chat-based engagement
Stimming and sensory-friendly presence
A slower, spacious rhythm that meets you where you are
Each week, we explore themes like authenticity, rejection sensitivity, executive functioning, and impostor syndrome—not to fix, but to witness, soften, and reweave your understanding of self.
Come As You Are
You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t need to be in individual therapy. You just need to be curious about your own story—and ready to sit in a circle with others who are learning to unmask, too.
